We are looking for an ambitious student with interest in qualitative and quantitative market, consumer and shopper analysis, strong business understanding and an innovative mindset. 

Global Insights: 

You will be part of The LEGO Group’s global market research function, Global Insights (GI). GI has about 60 engaged employees across the world of which about 30 are working out of the corporate headquarter in Billund, and a few based in Shanghai and rest primarily in Singapore, US, Denmark and London. In GI we foster an insights-led organization that leverages a single source of truth to drive commercial impact. We are a connected global community composed of 4 distinct teams: Business Partners, Center of Excellence, Enablers, and Strategic Synthesis & Narrative Development

You will be joining the Center of Excellence GTM & Shopper Research team. This team conducts various types of qualitative and quantitative researches across global markets to generate insights for LEGO master brand development and product line/ franchise level go-to-market efforts. With research at the core of what we do, we are the strategic research partner in creating excellent GTM, Consumers, Shoppers and Brand insights using best-in-class &/or innovative research methods that meet the business needs of markets and global organizations. 

Job content: 

This Research Intern role will be specifically focused on providing actionable and impactful insights around market & channel opportunities/ threats,  GTM plans, master brand development, etc. Sitting in the GTM &Shopper COE team, you will also be supporting the entire Global insights team. 

You can expect to be involved in a broad range of projects and workstreams. Your tasks will span across preparing analysis to team members and business partners, supporting brand, GTM, and innovation research projects with business data and insights, and building the foundation to understanding the ever-changing external market landscape with country nuance. The learning curve is expected to be steep and you will be given autonomy to drive your part of our projects.   

Job tasks will include: 

·       Heavy use of Excel to analyze market & channels, toy categories & brands, consumer & shopper profiles etc. 

·       Heavy use of Teams and Yammer for project management and internal communication

·       Data analytics of existing insights incl. pull data as a super user of tailor-made GI tracking tools and databases

·       Visualization of existing data and insights incl. appealing PowerPoint slides as well as innovative formats like video and dashboards, to enable impactful insights sharing and storytelling both within GI and to stakeholders

·       Support developing a research toolkit to onboard research partners on Ways of Working with LEGO GI incl. frequently used survey questions and respondent criteria, to establish global standard with necessary local customizations

·       Create clear picture of LEGO brand position in the business of play across global markets

·       Help identifying and quantifying go-to-market opportunity spaces for the LEGO Group 

·       Dialogue and follow-up with team members (based in different local hubs), cross-function GI peers, procurement and research vendors  

·       Ad hoc projects, including sharing relevant reports and findings on internal insights portal 

 

Relevant profile: 

You have a strong passion for PLAY and Learning

You have 2 - 3 years left of your studies. You have a very good understanding of business and it is a big advantage if your studies include relevant marketing research or business courses. You are probably well under way with a relevant academic marketing education and you might already have relevant marketing or market research experience.  

You are good at thinking visually, communicate your ideas and messages. You are ambitious, goal-oriented, show engagement and demonstrate positive thinking and a can-do attitude. You find energy in being tasked with tactical as well as strategic business problems, learn from them and contribute to their solution. You have a strong business understanding and is strategic, analytical and communicative in how you approach tasks.  

You like to dive into the numbers, analyze them and to turn numbers into actionable insights. It is expected that you are a super user of the MS office tools - especially Excel and PPT. Experience with Power BI is a plus. The position as a Research Intern in GI requires a structured working style, that you are able to take on task responsibilities and that you are able to contribute with ideas and input in relation to the task you are involved in. 

Strong English skills is a prerequisite, both verbally and in writing, as it is the official company language. It is expected that you use English in your reporting and communication tasks as well as in your communication with foreign vendors and team members. Experience with translation work preferred.

 

Working hours: 15-20 hours per week within normal office hours (2-3 days/wk).

Internship: 8-24 months

We are flexible around your working days and understand the importance of the balance between job and your studies. It is possible to spread out the working time on many or few days over the week – depending on what suites you the best.
